Swim Outfit

The Sporting Life exhibit at the FIT Museum is a pretty great display of athletic wear through time, and the modern designers inspired by them. In particular, I learned a lot about swimwear and the incredible 2 pieces wool jersey suits from the 1920s. They were basically long tight tank tops with matching mini shorts and I say we bring them back in style immediately.

Beginners

For the many of you who probably didn't see Beginners (directed by Mike Mills and starring Ewam McGregor, Christopher Plummer and Melanie Laurent) in the theaters, now is probably the time to get to it. It's a little gift of love, humor and style that makes you feel like all your troubles and issues are pretty normal, and that Ewan McGregor will somehow always be young, good looking and hip. Plus, it makes me want to live in the Hollywood Hills even more than pictures of young Joan Didion.

Jeremiah's Light

Interiors illustrator Jeremiah Goodman was born in 1922 in upstate New York and currently lives and paints in Manhattan. Before photography was readily used his gouache paintings captured the mood of rooms while still in their design stage, and helped reveal the interior visions for the homes of taste makers like Bruce Weber, Edward Albee, Yves Saint Laurent, Mario Buatta, Diana Vreeland, the Duchess of Windsor, Greta Garbo and Cecil Beaton.
